Ana Rodriguez entered the FIU Developmental Science Doctoral Program in fall of 2016. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and two Master Degrees: one in Development and Culture (from Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar in Colombia) and a second in Political and Social Sciences - Sociology and Demography Specialization (from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain). In addition to her research pursuits, she is currently a teaching assistant in the Psychology Department.
Ana's research examines the influence of culture and gender ideologies on power and expectations in intimate relationships, particularly as it relates to intimate partner violence (IPV). Her inter-disciplinary background has served as a foundation for her emerging methodological expertise in Network Analysis (NA). Through the application of network sciences and social network analysis she is developing a program of research that seeks to identify the psychological and social impacts of health inequalities, inclusion/exclusion dynamics, and violence in intimate relationships. For more information about her research, please email Ana directly.
