RESEARCH FOCI: Latinx Identity Development, Cultural Values, STEM
Elsa Bravo joined the HDCI Lab in fall of 2018. Her major professor is Dr. Dionne Stephens. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from FIU. Currently, Elsa is an intern at Strong Girls, Inc., a non-profit organization that seeks to eliminate obstacles for girls from resource limited communities in South Florida.
Elsa's research examines gender identity, cultural norms, and familial values influence on Latinx's academic goals. Elsa is particularly interested in identifying cultural processes informing Latina's STEM field entry decision making across the academic pipeline.
